Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our night shift team. Under RN supervision, you will monitor telemetry on three floors, identify arrhythmias, intervene as needed, and communicate changes to nursing staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Handle with Care class completed within 6 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, perform telemetry monitoring.
• Continual surveillance of multiple monitors for three nursing floors.
• Identify significant arrhythmias and intervene when needed.
• Report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Print rhythm strips and deliver to the appropriate nursing floor.
• Maintain rhythm logs.
• Test equipment for proper working order.
• Report equipment problems to supervisor.
• Follow LifePoint Code of Conduct and all policies.

Starr Regional Medical Center's Athens campus provides inpatient and outpatient services through its 118-bed acute care facility, outpatient rehabilitation services and physician practices.

How you'll contribute

AMonitor Technicianwho excels in this role:

• Under the supervision of an RN, this person performs telemetry monitoring.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors for three nursing floors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient. physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Print out rhythm strips and deliver them to the appropriate nursing floor.
• Maintain rhythm logs.
• Test equipment for proper working order.
• Report any equipment problems to the supervisor.
• Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant company and division policies and procedures.

Qualifications
