Job summary

Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN, is seeking a Monitor Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of an RN, you will monitor telemetry and respond to rhythm changes to support patient care.

You will perform continual surveillance across multiple monitors, identify significant arrhythmias, and report findings to nursing staff. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and compassionate patient support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Handle with Care class must be completed within 6 months of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of an RN, this person performs telemetry monitoring.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors for three nursing floors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient’s condition to nursing staff.
• Print out rhythm strips and deliver them to the appropriate nursing floor.
• Maintain rhythm logs.
• Test equipment for proper working order.
• Report any equipment problems to the supervisor.
• Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant company and division policies and procedures.

About Us

Starr Regional Medical Center’s Athens campus provides inpatient and outpatient services through its 118-bed acute care facility, outpatient rehabilitation services and physician practices.

How You’ll Contribute

• Under the supervision of an RN, this person performs telemetry monitoring.
• Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors for three nursing floors.
• Identifies significant arrhythmias and/or signs of patient distress and intervenes appropriately.
• Reports abnormal assessment and telemetry findings or changes in patient. physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Print out rhythm strips and deliver them to the appropriate nursing floor.
• Maintain rhythm logs.
• Test equipment for proper working order.
• Report any equipment problems to the supervisor.
• Review and comply with LifePoint Code of Conduct and all relevant company and division policies and procedures.
