Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical is seeking a Telemetry Monitor Technician to join our cardiovascular care team in Macon, GA. This role provides continuous ECG monitoring, interpretation of cardiac rhythms, and accurate reporting of findings to support patient care.

Education required is a high school diploma or GED. No prior experience is required, though 1 year as a monitor technician is preferred. CCMTT or CRAT certifications are preferred if obtained.

Qualifications

• Ability to troubleshoot monitoring issues.
• Responsible for maintaining telemetry equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Provides continuous ECG monitoring and interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
• Measures P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations as part of assessment.
• Troubleshoots monitoring problems and reports malfunctions promptly.
• Maintains inventories, supplies, hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition.

Responsibilities

Possesses knowledge and ability to provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias interpretation including: measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. Possesses troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identifies probable causes, and seeks solutions to correct the problem. Responsible for maintaining inventories, supplies, hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition and responsible for appropriately reporting malfunctions promptly as applicable.

Licenses and Certifications

• Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 Days Required
• Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association Preferred or
• Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International Preferred
