Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Georgia is seeking a Monitor Technician to support continuous ECG monitoring and accurate rhythm interpretation within a fast-paced telemetry unit. You’ll assess EKG strips, identify dysrhythmias, and help ensure patient safety through timely reporting of findings.

No experience is required, though 1 year as a monitor technician is preferred. A HS diploma or GED is required, with completion of telemetry competency within 30 days; CCMTT or CRAT certifications are

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
• Troubleshoot monitoring problems, identify probable causes, and implement solutions.
• Maintain inventories, supplies, hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition; report malfunctions promptly.

Responsibilities:

Possesses knowledge and ability to provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias interpretation including: measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. Possesses troubleshooting skills to recognize monitoring problems, identifies probable causes, and seeks solutions to correct the problem. Responsible for maintaining inventories, supplies, hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition and responsible for appropriately reporting malfunctions promptly.

Licenses and Certifications

• Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 Days Required
• Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association Preferred or
• Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International Preferred
