Responsibilities

The Monitor Tech is an unlicensed role involving indirect patient care within the department. Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac rhythms, facilitating communication, transcribing physician orders, verifying lab and radiology tests, preparing records, ordering supplies, and assisting nursing staff as needed. For ICU, may provide direct patient care under supervision if certified and competent, and relieved of monitor duties during assistance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience.
• Current Dysrhythmia Interpretation Certificate (within 30 days of hire).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate.
• Six months experience as a Monitor Technician preferred.
