Position Summary

Responsible for setting up telemetry based on physician orders, ensuring proper electrode placement, running strips, and replacing batteries as needed.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Select, set up, calibrate, and adjust monitoring equipment according to physician orders.
  2. Ensure proper functioning of equipment; troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  3. Collect, transmit, and document patient data, providing correct interpretations and measurements each shift and during rhythm changes.
  4. Maintain current monitored patient data in the system; collaborate with nursing staff on validation counts and alarm parameters.
  5. Report alarms and rhythm changes to RN staff.
  6. Greet, screen, and process calls, patients, visitors, and messages.
  7. Transcribe physician orders, and enter tests and treatment requests into the system.
  8. Assemble and maintain patient medical records, including posting results.
Qualifications
Education

Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

Required: Successful completion of EKG class; familiarity with medical terminology.
