Job summary

Prosser Memorial Health in Prosser, WA seeks a Receptionist/Secretary on the patient care unit under direct supervision of the Nurse Director or charge nurse. The role includes telemetry observation and reporting cardiac rhythm changes to the nursing staff.

The position requires a High School Diploma; a Medical Assistant program or CNA training is preferred. Basic Arrhythmia with EKG competency, typing and computer skills are required; recent acute care experience is a plus.

FT, 72 hrs/pp, 0.9 FTE; varies as scheduled.

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Nurse Director or charge nurse and performs receptionist and secretarial duties on the patient care unit while functioning as the focal communication source in the nursing station. This position is also responsible for continuous observation of telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac dysrhythmias. Responsible for cardiac observation and reporting the cardiac rhythm changes to the nursing staff assigned to the patient.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma required.

Graduate of medical assistant program (preferred) or CNA training program required.

Completion of Basic Arrhythmia course including EKG telemetry competency test.

Recent Acute Care experience preferred.

Prefer background in medical terminology.

Typing skills required; computer skills required.

Licensure & Certification Requirements:

BLS

CNA, MA-R, MA-P, MAC
