Baptist Health System, Inc. in Elizabethtown is seeking a part-time Monitor Tech for the Central Monitoring unit. The role supports Nursing Assistants and Unit Secretaries in Progressive Care, monitoring telemetry and alerting staff to dysrhythmias.

The position involves shift work 7a-7p, cross-training, and documentation in the EMR for events before, during, and after. Ideal candidates have a HS diploma, BLS, and basic arrhythmia training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Basic arrhythmia course within 3 months of hire.
• Monitor Tech certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and interprets telemetry heart status and notifies nursing staff of dysrhythmias.
• Verifies and creates shift snippets for admissions and changes in rhythm.
• Performs clerical duties related to admissions, discharges and transfers in telemetry system.
• Admits patients to the system using correct information.
• Sends and receives telemetry monitors via pneumatic tube system.
• Copies and assembles paperwork for transfers related to telemetry monitoring.

Job Description:

Monitor Tech - Central Monitoring

Part-Time 7a - 7p

Will cross-train and work as both a Nursing Assistant and Unit Secretary in the Progressive Care Unit.

The Monitor Tech monitors and interprets telemetry patient’s heart status and notifies nursing staff and providers of any dysrhythmias or abnormal findings and documents such in electronic medical record.

• Verifies and creates snippets each shift, for all inpatient admissions, for any changes in patient rhythm, and for emergency situations, pre, during and post events.
• Performs clerical duties as related to admissions, discharges and transfers within the telemetry monitoring system.
• Admits patient to system using correct patient information in correct format.
• Sends and receives telemetry monitors in-house via pneumatic tube system.
• Copies and assembles necessary paperwork for in-house and external patient transfers related to telemetry monitoring

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• Successful completion of basic arrhythmia course required within 3 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Monitor Tech certification preferred.
