AtlantiCare is hiring a Monitor Technician to observe heart rhythms for telemetry patients and maintain alarm parameters set by physicians. You will promptly alert the nurse to critical rhythm changes and support patient care through teamwork and quality service.

The role emphasizes adherence to telemetry protocols, collaboration with the nursing team, and ongoing training in dysrhythmia recognition and BLS within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (required).
• Successful completion of dysrhythmia recognition course within 30 days of hire (required).
• AHA BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer (required).
• Cardiac monitor technician experience (required).
• Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; required to develop skill within 30‑60 days.

Position Summary

The Monitor Technician provides support to the patient care delivery team by observing the heart rhythms of patients receiving cardiac monitoring. The Technician maintains alarm parameters established by the physician and notifies the Registered Nurse of critical changes in patient cardiac rhythms, as per telemetry communication protocol for Centralized Telemetry. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, collaborating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Reporting Relationship

Reports to Nursing through the Director of Clinical Logistics/Patient Flow.
