Monitor Tech - Central Monitoring
Part-Time 7p - 7a
Will cross-train and work as both a Nursing Assistant and Unit Secretary in the Progressive Care Unit.
The Monitor Tech monitors and interprets telemetry patient’s heart status and notifies nursing staff and providers of any dysrhythmias or abnormal findings and documents such in electronic medical record.
Verifies and creates snippets each shift, for all inpatient admissions, for any changes in patient rhythm, and for emergency situations, pre, during and post events.
Performs clerical duties as related to admissions, discharges and transfers within the telemetry monitoring system.
Admits patient to system using correct patient information in correct format.
Sends and receives telemetry monitors in-house via pneumatic tube system.
Copies and assembles necessary paperwork for in-house and external patient transfers related to telemetry monitoring
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
Successful completion of basic arrhythmia course required within 3 months of hire.
