Job summary

Bank of America in Jersey City, NJ is seeking an experienced MongoDB Database Administrator to design and manage scalable database systems in an enterprise environment.

You will implement sharding and replication, tune performance, ensure high availability, automate routine tasks with Python and shell scripts, and provide leadership in on-call rotations and incident response for mission-critical applications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of job related experience required.
• Experience with MongoDB (Primary) and related concepts.
• Sharding, Replication, OPS Manager, Clustering, Data Modeling.
• Performance tuning: Query Optimization, Indexing, Capacity Planning, Tuning.
• Automation: Python, Shell Scripting (Bash).
• Linux/Unix, Cloud: MongoDB Atlas on AWS, Azure, & GCP.
• Backup & Recovery, Security, High Availability Architecture.

Responsibilities

• Manages and prioritizes multiple tasks for the team, tracks tasks and tickets, and ensures SLAs are met.
• Provides escalation point and leadership for triage of high-priority incidents or engagements.
• Performs all responsibilities of team members on applicable projects.
• Ensures alerts, monitoring, dashboards, and processes are in place for new projects.
• Participates in resource interviews and onboarding processes.
• Performs access reviews and compliance activities; delegates admin processes.
• Creates on-call rotation schedules and supports off-hours, weekends, and release windows.
• Manages backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery processes for data integrity.
