Job Title - MongoDB Database Administrator

Location - Westlake, TX or Jersey City, NJ or Boston, MA

Duration - 6 months (high likely good of extension)

Note - They are 5 days onsite then 5 days remote. Work remote every other week.

Job Description:

This role can be based in NJ, TX, or BOS. The contract is until the end of the year with a possibility of extension based on performance. The primary need is for a MongoDB DBA with experience in MongoDB Ops Management. This is a self-managed role requiring senior-level expertise. Almost 80% of the application runs on MongoDB. AWS Cloud experience with MongoDB is essential, along with skills in Terraform, Ansible, and Python. The team handles system and application databases, requiring end-to-end knowledge.

Technical Skills:

• 8+ years MongoDB DBA experience.
• Experience with other distributed databases is preferred.
• Strong knowledge in installing, configuring, upgrading MongoDB, and general administration.
• Experience with Ops Manager installation, configuration, and upgrades.
• Schema design, performance tuning, query optimization, backup solutions, replica set management.
• Managing MongoDB Oplog and journals.
• Designing indexing strategies and sharding.
• Debugging and troubleshooting skills.
• Scripting/automation with Bash, Python, and Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps tools like Jenkins, Git, JIRA, Confluence.
• Experience with Datadog and ServiceNow integration.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, containerization (ECS, Docker).
• Cloud experience with AWS (preferred), Azure, GCP, including EC2, CFT, Route53, RDS.

Additional Good-to-Have Skills:

• Redis and Elasticsearch knowledge.
• Understanding of query planning.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with version control and build tools like Maven.
• Familiarity with cloud data warehousing and data lakes is a plus.

Required Expertise:

• 5 to 10 years DBA experience.
• AWS Solutions Architect certification.
