The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass pre-employment checks. Previous warehouse or delivery experience is a plus, and you will work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

Connor Co., a company with a rich history of serving the plumbing and HVAC industries, is seeking a dependable, career-minded individual for a full-time Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate position at our Moline, Illinois, location.

The ideal candidate is committed to excellent customer service, safe work practices, and a team-oriented environment. Previous warehouse, delivery, HVAC, or plumbing experience is preferred but not required.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Primary Responsibilities

• Inspect the delivery vehicle before operation, including its general condition, fluid levels, and tire pressure.
• Promptly report maintenance or repair needs to the Branch Manager.
• Help keep the vehicle operating safely and efficiently by completing required preventive maintenance and reporting or troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Load products securely and safely to prevent damage during transportation.
• Plan delivery routes and deliver materials to customers safely, accurately, and on schedule.
• Communicate delivery progress and delays as needed.
• Unload products at customer locations and pick up returned materials.
• Verify delivered products against packing slips and obtain customer signatures.
• Provide professional customer service and resolve or forward customer questions and concerns appropriately.
• Receive and process incoming materials.
• Compare received materials with packing slips or manifests and report shortages, overages, or damaged goods.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Place materials in their designated warehouse locations.
• Stack pallets and materials safely in designated areas.
• Dispose of cardboard, strapping, bracing, and other packing materials in the appropriate containers or designated areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse, loading dock, and work area.
• Assist customers at the sales counter as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. (Illinois Class C License)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Ability to safely operate a delivery vehicle and follow applicable traffic and safety regulations.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment, including a forklift.
• Ability to read delivery instructions and use maps or GPS navigation to plan routes.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

This position works in a warehouse and loading-dock environment and regularly performs delivery duties outdoors. The employee will be exposed to changing weather conditions and temperatures and will frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, carry, load, and unload materials.
