Job summary

Unified Women’s Healthcare seeks a Molecular Technologist to manage pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing in our centralized labs. You will document and implement QA/QC procedures, assist with troubleshooting and equipment maintenance, and ensure timely, accurate results reported through the LIS.

The role emphasizes adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and an efficient workflow, with opportunities for professional growth within a nationwide women’s health network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science is required.
• MB certification is preferred.
• Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Performs simple to complex assays utilizing established departmental protocols.
• Reads, understands, and adheres to all the SOPs, policies, and protocols.
• Performs all pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing processes accurately and timely, as well as independently.
• Reports results via the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Prepares clinical specimens for testing and identifies specimen related problems.
• Establishes and performs proper quality control measures in accordance with laboratory standards.
• Documents quality control, calibrations, and certifications to support QA initiatives.
• Identifies problems that may affect test performance and reports findings to supervisor.
• Documents corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance specs.
• Maintains efficient workflow operations and monitors delays or problems.
• Maintains records that demonstrate PT samples are tested like patient samples.
• Cleans and maintains lab equipment and workspace.
• Maintains and tracks inventory for reagents, consumables, and ancillaries.
• Follows health and safety regulations when handling laboratory specimens.
• Complies with chemical hygiene and lab safety procedures.
• Complies with all lab procedures, processes, and methodologies.

Education

Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science

Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology

Molecular Biology (MB) Certification preferred
