Responsibilities

• Initiates workflow for multiple departments (flow cytometry, cytogenetics, molecular and fish).
• Triages, prioritizes, and sorts specimens for accessioning and processing.
• Performs data entry of patient information accurately and promptly.
• Scans requisitions and paperwork into the scan system and shreds documents as needed.
• Handles specialty specimens, assembles folders, prints labels, sorts samples, and coordinates testing and reference testing.
• Handles inbound calls or directs them to appropriate personnel.
• Collects information on client inquiries/complaints for follow-up.
• Receives and returns paraffin blocks.
• Adheres to all laboratory safety procedures and corporate policies.
