Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant II to support daily laboratory operations, including data entry, specimen processing, and communication with clinicians. The role involves handling automated systems, organizing specimen flow, and ensuring timely reporting of results.

On-site position in Nashville, TN, with responsibilities spanning accessioning, quality checks, and coordination with supervisors to maintain productivity and compliance with lab procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred knowledge of laboratory testing and specimen processing.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical lab environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for department specimen receiving of FastTrack specimens within established productivity metrics.
• Performs loading and unloading of specimens on automated instrumentation within state guidelines.
• Performs basic understanding and usage of specimen registration (accessioning) of specimens for department testing.
• Handle specialty specimens including assembling specimen folders, printing labels, sorting samples by department.
• Responsible for maintaining and reviewing pending lists and ensuring fulfillment of referral testing TATs.
• Collect information related to client inquiries/complaints and communicate to Client Services Representative for follow-up and response.
• Receive inbound calls from physicians, laboratories, nurses, clients, sales reps, clinics, and hospitals and directs those calls to appropriate personnel.
