We’re looking for a Microbiologist to support critical public-health testing by coordinating and performing laboratory analyses for SARS-CoV-2 and other environmental targets in wastewater and water samples. This role involves hands‑on molecular testing, quality control, and ensuring compliance with safety and certification standards.

🔬 What You’ll Do

• Perform wastewater sample concentration, RNA extraction, and PCR molecular testing
• Maintain laboratory records and sample documentation
• Evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory results
• Conduct quality‑control checks on methods, materials, and equipment
• Assist with data compilation and report preparation
• Participate in the evaluation of new laboratory products and methods
• Adhere to all safety standards and certification requirements
• Perform additional duties as needed in support of laboratory operations

🎯 What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in a biological science (Required)
• Hands‑on experience with RNA/DNA extraction and PCR/qPCR testing (Required)
• Strong understanding of molecular testing principles, theories, and practices
• Experience using molecular and standard laboratory equipment
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and prepare laboratory reports
• Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to environmental testing
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to successfully participate in proficiency testing programs
• 1+ year experience in molecular testing (Highly Desired)
