Job summary

Techgene Solutions seeks a Microbiologist to coordinate and perform testing for SARS-CoV-2 and other public health targets in wastewater and water samples. You will examine samples, interpret results, report findings, ensure quality control and compliance, and uphold laboratory safety.

Responsibilities include RNA extraction, PCR testing, data reporting, and contributing to proficiency programs while working with staff and stakeholders to maintain quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Biological Science.
• Experience performing RNA extraction and qPCR testing is required.
• Strong knowledge of molecular testing principles, theories, and practices.
• Knowledge of current molecular scientific methods and testing procedures.
• Ability to use molecular and standard laboratory equipment.
• Ability to compile, analyze, evaluate, and prepare laboratory reports.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory safety practices and principles.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies related to laboratory operations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of molecular testing experience preferred.
