Job summary

NeoGenomics in Aliso Viejo, CA is seeking an entry-level Laboratory Technician I for the Molecular department. Under supervision you will assist with processing specimens for clinical testing and provide general lab support following SOPs.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in life or physical science required or strongly preferred
• AA or AS with Medical Laboratory Technician License acceptable
• 1+ years of laboratory experience preferred
• Basic understanding of laboratory techniques
• Basic MS Office proficiency
• Effective communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in a biohazard environment and follow safety policies
• Lifts up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Receive, organize and process clinical specimens accurately
• Prepare data and documents for licensed technologist review
• Set up testing equipment and assist with maintenance
• Report problems to supervisor for timely resolution
• Operate automated equipment per SOP
• Prepare reagents and controls and maintain records
• Respond to pathologists and technologists requests promptly
• Follow SOPs and departmental rules and protocols
• Document Quality Control and Quality Assurance results
• Assist in validation documentation for new tests
