Job summary

NeoGenomics is seeking an Accessioning Technician for our Aliso Viejo, CA laboratory. The position involves ensuring proper handling of all specimens received, data entry, aliquoting, and scanning documents.

This entry-level role covers the full range of specimen processing procedures. You will review requisitions, enter data into LIS, label samples, generate travel documents, and coordinate with departments to ensure accurate case paperwork and smooth workflow.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with MS Office programs preferred.
• Though entry-level, prior accessioning or lab support experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort specimens for testing.
• Review requisitions for missing information and coordinate with Client Services to obtain it.
• Enter data into LIS accurately, label samples, and create folders.
• Generate specimen travel documents and forward samples to relevant departments.
• Assemble case paperwork and pre-analytic documentation.
• Perform add-on test entry and coordinate split specimens.
• Dispatch specimens to reference labs and maintain shipment logs.
• Perform quality assurance checks on samples and maintain chain of custody.
