Job summary

Almac Group in Durham, NC is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to oversee day-to-day testing in the CLIA-accredited Clinical Testing Laboratory, including supervision of high-complexity molecular testing within global clinical trials.

You will lead scientific staff, ensure regulatory compliance, drive continuous improvement, and maintain rigorous quality and patient-care standards, while mentoring a talented team and advancing precision medicine.

Qualifications

BS/BA degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
Advanced degree with hands-on experience in qPCR, Nanostring, or NGS.
PhD with experience in molecular testing technologies.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day supervision of testing personnel and reporting of test results within the high complexity Clinical Testing Laboratory.
Coordinate activities of junior team members to ensure timely completion of clinical testing.
Monitor specimen examinations and analyses to maintain analytic performance at all times.
Generate, revise, and review laboratory or equipment-related SOPs and quality documents.
Perform molecular biological techniques adhering to QC policies.
Ensure remedial actions are taken when test systems deviate from performance specs and leadership is notified.
Be available for on-site, telephone, or electronic consultation to resolve technical problems.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate ordering/testing of new reagents and controls.
