Job summary

Almac Group in Durham, NC is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to oversee day-to-day testing in a CLIA-accredited laboratory, including high complexity molecular testing across trials. You will manage scientific staff, drive continuous improvement, and ensure regulatory compliance and patient care.

The role emphasizes leadership of a talented team, collaboration across technology areas, and maintaining quality standards to advance clinical trial outcomes and precision medicine.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, medical, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• B.S. or MS degree with 4+ years of training/experience in qPCR, Nanostring, and/or NGS, OR Ph.D. with 1+ year in these technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of testing personnel and reporting of test results in the high complexity Clinical Testing Laboratory.
• Coordinate activities of junior team members to ensure timely completion of clinical testing.
• Monitor specimen examinations and analyses to maintain analytic performance within specifications.
• Generate, revise, and review laboratory or equipment-related SOPs and other quality documents.
• Perform molecular biology techniques adhering to quality control policies.
• Ensure remedial actions are taken when test systems deviate and notify leadership as required.
• Be accessible to testing personnel for on-site, telephone, or electronic consultation.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate ordering and testing of reagents and controls.
