Job summary

MD Anderson's Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory seeks a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily lab operations, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and lead a team of technologists. You will guide SOP updates, implement LIS/EMR improvements, and manage staff performance and development.

You will champion process improvements, coordinate testing across pre-analytical to post-analytical phases, and support a high-quality cancer diagnostics program at MD Anderson.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related science field or NAACLS accredited program
• Master's Degree or Doctorate preferred
• Licensure/certifications not explicitly listed as prerequisites for the role beyond standard lab credentials

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities in a clinical laboratory.
• Leads evaluation and validation of new methodologies, tests, and instrumentation.
• Oversees LIS and EMR applications implementation and testing.
• Ensures testing phases adhere to policies and procedures (pre-analytical, analytical, post-analytical).
• Manages personnel activities including performance evaluations, scheduling, and coaching.
• Maintains quality control/assurance and supports CAP/regulatory standards.
• Coordinates proficiency testing and quality surveillance.
• Assists with SOP updates and staff training and competency assessments.
• Ensures supplies and equipment meet lab testing needs.
