Qualifications

• Active California Department of Public Health CLS license or CGMBS license.
• Experience in high complexity clinical laboratory testing, preferably molecular diagnostics.
• Molecular testing (PCR, Microarray, Sanger/NGS) experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable with technology.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills across platforms.
• Excellent interpersonal and team player attitude.
• Ability to adapt to change and rapid pace.
• Maintains continuing education units per California DOH and NYSDOH.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular genetic testing on clinical specimens.
• Follow SOPs for specimen handling, processing, testing and results documentation.
• Perform QC procedures per QA program.
• Prepare reagents and materials for testing.
• Engage in training and proficiency testing.
• Assist in research and validation activities.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance.
• Document corrective actions for deviations.
• Follow safety and quality procedures and report concerns.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and participate in inspections.
• Work cooperatively in a team and perform other duties as assigned.
