Job summary

Veracyte is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in San Diego, CA to perform high complexity molecular testing on patient samples and report results. You will follow SOPs, participate in QC/QA activities, and work in a fast-paced team environment.

The ideal candidate holds CA CLS or CGMBS licensure, with molecular diagnostics experience and strong communication skills. Tuesday–Saturday shift, onsite work with potential bonuses and total compensation elements.

Qualifications

• Active California Department of Public Health CLS or CGMBS license (no exceptions).
• Experience in high complexity clinical laboratory testing, preferably molecular diagnostics.
• Performance of molecular testing (PCR, Microarray, Sanger/NGS sequencing) a plus.
• Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be detail-oriented and comfortable with technology; excellent written and verbal communication.
• Maintains continuing education units required by California and New York Health Departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular genetic testing on clinical specimens.
• Follow the laboratory's standard operating procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analyses, and recording of test results.
• Perform, review and document laboratory quality control procedures in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program.
• Complete assigned laboratory and non-laboratory tasks.
• Prepare reagents required for laboratory testing.
• Engage in training; perform proficiency testing for clinical tests.
• Assist in research and validation activities; document corrective actions when test systems deviate.
• Follow safety and environmental health procedures and report concerns to supervisor.
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations; participate in inspections.
• Work cooperatively in a team environment and support staff; perform other duties as assigned.
