JOB TITLE: Molecular Diagnostic Lab Technician
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
SUMMARY
A Molecular Diagnostic Lab Technician will provide technical support in the molecular labs including but not limited to: sample processing, nucleic acid extractions, PCR set up, sequencing library prep, molecular analysis/report generation, and other laboratory tasks as assigned. This role will interact with other diagnostic lab members, research team members, and other departments as needed.

Reports to: Manager, Diagnostics Lab
Supervises: Has no supervisory responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate basic laboratory mathematical calculations such as stock dilutions.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
