Job summary

Minco Tool & Mold Inc in Dayton, OH is seeking an experienced mold maker and machinist to lay out, machine, assemble, and finish components for molds, dies, fixtures, and gauges. You will rely on blueprints and precision tooling to drive efficient production.

You will set up milling machines, grinders, EDM, lathes, and related equipment, verify tolerances with micrometers and gauges, and collaborate with the lead moldmaker to plan work sequences. A 4-year trade school or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• 4 years of trade school, vocational education, work experience, or apprenticeship.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

• Studies blueprints to determine the most efficient procedures for machining details.
• Sets up and operates milling machines, surface grinders, EDM, jig grinder, radial drill, lathe, drill press, and cranes.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances, using surface plates, indicators, gauge blocks, micrometers, and calipers.
• Assembles details to complete a mold.
• Communicates with co-workers and supervisors to receive instructions.
• Operates forklift (requires license).
