Job summary

Demgy Pacific in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Manufacturing Planner to create and release detailed work instructions for production by translating customer orders, drawings, and specifications for aerospace parts. The role will support Assembly, CNC, and Molding departments to ensure instructions are accurate and effective.

You will work to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and integrate instructions into the ERP/MRP workflow, utilizing strong technical writing and communication skills to drive

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, parts lists, specifications.

  • Proficient with computers: MS Office, CAD/CAM; IQMS knowledge is a plus.

  • Collaborate orally and in writing with team in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze drawings to determine manufacturing requirements incl. materials and labor.
  • Ensure routings reflect steps, sequence, and accurate timing.
  • Support production personnel, purchasing, program management.
  • Create work instructions compliant with BMS procedures.
  • Review and update existing work instructions to implement improvements.
  • Review and suggest changes to improve the instruction development process.
  • Monitor KPI progress such as Work Instruction Created and Audits.
  • Troubleshoot issues with Work Instruction use and improvements.
  • Create and maintain reporting documents and records.
  • Assist Engineering to transition work from Engineering to Manufacturing.
  • Support long-term transition to digital work instructions.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for creating & releasing detailed work instructions for production through translation of all pertinent technical data which includes customer purchase order, drawings, specifications and other related information as it pertains to completing manufactured parts for the aerospace industry.

The Manufacturing Planner will support Assembly, CNC, and Molding Departments to ensure all work instructions are effective and utilized correctly.

JOB SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to read & interpret engineering drawings, parts lists, and specifications
  • Ability to visualize the manufacturing process and the sequence of operations required to produce the product
  • Working knowledge of computers - intermediate to advanced skill with Microsoft Office, CAD/CAM. Exact IQMS Software knowledge a plus
  • Well-organized, self-starter who is self-motivated with excellent communication skills and a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both your supervisor and shop floor personnel to understand assignments and to provide process-related feedback
  • Highly effective problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate and cooperate orally and in writing with a variety of team members in a complex environment
  • This should include adaptable and flexible approaches to conflict resolution and negotiations
  • Understanding of AS9100 industry standards for tooling, supply chain, raw material options, and product design
  • Demonstrated Time Management and Prioritization strengths easily dovetail with Organization/Planning relevant to departmental needs

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that all routings accurately reflect the steps used to construct the item with respect to sequence, full and accurate description of steps to be taken, accurate reflection of the time taken to build the part
  • Support production personnel, purchasing, program management
  • Create work instructions compliant with company BMS procedures
  • Review and update existing work instructions to implement improvements
  • Review and suggest changes to improve the Work Instruction development process to create efficiencies
  • Monitor and report on KPI progress such as Work Instruction Created, Work Instruction Process Audits and Validation
  • Troubleshoot issues with Work Instruction use, effectiveness, and improvements
  • Create and maintain reporting documents and records
  • Assist the Engineering team to transition work from Engineering to Manufacturing
  • Provide support for the long-term transition to digital work instructions

QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Post-secondary education that includes technical writing, engineering, sciences required
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experienced with aerospace product drawings and specifications preferred
