Job summary

Silgan Dispensing Systems is seeking a molding production shift supervisor to oversee machine operators and technical roles. You will orient and train staff, plan and assign work, appraise performance, and enforce policies while promoting a safe work environment.

The role emphasizes problem solving, data communication, and coaching to develop team members. You will drive cost improvements, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives on the Grandview, Missouri floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution or 4–6 years of related experience; equivalent combination considered.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with ISO9001/14001 preferred.
• Scientific Injection Molding experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote a Zero injury / incident culture and lead safety initiatives.
• Effectively communicate and present data to team members.
• Identify and develop people to promote within the organization.
• Set clear performance expectations and foster accountability.
• Investigate customer complaints and ensure fair, timely reviews.
• Oversee shift compliance with policies and procedures.
• Fully investigate root causes for accidents/near misses and communicate findings.
• Allocate 25% of time to managing and scheduling work and personnel.
• Be on the production floor 50% to assist operations, drive scrap reduction and continuous improvements.
• Lead safety improvements and activities to drive for zero injuries.
