Job summary

Silgan Plastics in Flora, IL seeks a Plant Supervisor to lead direct reports and ensure start-ups and mold changes meet schedule. Partner with management and shift supervisors to control labor and keep production lines efficient.

You will identify continuous improvement opportunities, communicate daily with management and hourly staff, and support maintenance and tooling changes to optimize costs and throughput.

Qualifications

• Good safety, attendance and job performance record.
• Experience in a blow molding facility employing shuttle equipment is preferred.
• Familiarity with blow molding processes and tooling.

Responsibilities

• Promote and execute safe work practices across the Houston facility.
• Manage set-up department to ensure timely, accurate start-ups.
• Identify mold issues and coordinate changes with mold maker.
• Coordinate with plant PDE to approve tooling/mold engineering.
• Maintain daily changes listing and report to plant manager monthly.
• Collaborate with shift supervisors and quality personnel to keep production running smoothly.
• Work with PDEs on new projects and manage spare parts inventory.
• Train new employees and ensure components are ready for jobs.
• Monitor performance and attendance of direct reports; enforce safety.
