Description

Job Summary Operates compression and injection molding machines which mold thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics into products for world class electronic connector use. Job Responsibilities • Responsible for operating and monitoring a transfer injection molding machine or 2 transfer molding machines• Handles raw material by adding and removing machine products to and from the machine bin• Cleans and maintains molding machines on daily basis ensuring equipment remains in good condition• Cleans and de flashes fabricated molds• Constantly observes and monitors machines and products to provide quality product conformance to customer requirements.• Rework or sort any red tags in conformance with departmental guidelines.• Ensure quality of produced product• Execute setup of machines for production• Acquire skill to change machine molds.• Load and unload machine hoppers.• Performs machine startup and shutdown.• Read and interpret blueprints, safety rules, and operating instructions as well as utilize measuring tools daily.• Complete and maintain daily production output records.• Protect themselves and their co-workers by adhering to all company safety & health policies.• Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or safety coordinator.• Must work with the EHS department to ensure all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies requirements are met; OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA and Amphenol sustainability practices.• Must work with the Quality department to ensure all quality standards are met for AS9100 certification.• Comply with company policies and procedures.• Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED Experience: 1 to 3 months of experience or training Other: Passage of appropriate testing to advance in ABC certification program. Physical: Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, may have to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift up to 10 lbs. and may occasionally be required to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally 100 lbs with assistance. Shift: First Shift (M-W 5:00am - 5:30pm) Knowledge: English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Skills: Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Attention to Detail -Being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Abilities: Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. Control Precision - The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions. Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Multi-limb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting, standing, or lying down. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion. Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Problem Sensitivity - The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
