Job summary

Role Description

The Mold Tooling Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in South Jordan, UT, responsible for supporting the production and maintenance of mold tools used in manufacturing dental products. Day-to-day tasks include operating milling and machining equipment to fabricate, modify, and repair mold components according to engineering specifications. The technician performs routine and preventive maintenance on mold tooling and related equipment to ensure reliable operation and product quality. The role also involves diagnosing tooling issues, troubleshooting mechanical problems, and completing maintenance and repair activities in a timely manner. This position works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to maintain safe working conditions, minimize downtime, and support continuous improvement in mold tooling processes.

Qualifications

• Strong machining skills, including experience with milling operations and working with precision tools and measuring instruments.
• Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance activities on tooling and production equipment to reduce failures and downtime.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and tooling issues and identifying root causes to improve equipment reliability.
• Demonstrated ability in maintenance and repair of molds, fixtures, and related machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Experience in plastics injection molding or similar tooling environments is preferred.
