Qualifications

• Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience collaborating with global manufacturing partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an internal tool shop, coordinating with toolmakers and mold design engineers.
• Conduct DFM reviews to ensure optimal product designs.
• Design and evaluate injection molds for medical connector components and cable assemblies.
• Develop tooling concepts, including gating, venting, cooling, and surface finishes.
• Collaborate with product engineering to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Coordinate with external mold shops, domestically and offshore, during design and qualification processes.
• Resolve tooling-related issues and facilitate design updates as needed.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mold Tooling Engineering Manager to lead our engineering team in the design and production of medical cable assemblies and connector products. This role demands a seasoned professional who can oversee both new product development and ongoing engineering support, particularly focusing on injection-molded components. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage an internal tool shop, coordinating with toolmakers and mold design engineers.
• Conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews to ensure optimal product designs.
• Design and evaluate injection molds for medical connector components and cable assemblies.
• Develop and support tooling concepts, including gating, venting, cooling, and surface finishes.
• Collaborate with product engineering to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-efficient.
• Work closely with external mold shops, both domestic and offshore, throughout the tool design and qualification process.
• Assist in resolving tooling-related issues and facilitate design updates as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mold design, tooling, or toolmaking.
• An Associate’s degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent hands‑on experience is also considered.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
• Capability to conduct thorough DFM and tooling feasibility reviews.
• Extensive experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience collaborating with global manufacturing partners.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience specifically in medical connector and cable assembly mold design.
• Background as a journeyman toolmaker or significant shop floor experience.
• Familiarity with medical validation processes including IQ/OQ/PQ.
