Job summary

Summit Polymers in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Mold Technician to set up, operate and shut down injection presses. You’ll follow standard work procedures, perform first/last piece inspections and routine quality checks, and help maintain machines and molds.

This position progresses through three training levels with increasing responsibilities, including mold changes, crane operations, start-ups and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Complete post-hire training modules within the specified time frame.
• Must achieve minimum scores on required tests (e.g., DAT Mechanical Reasoning).
• Physically capable of standing, lifting up to 60 pounds, and wearing safety footwear.

Responsibilities

• Safely performing injection mold changes and machine start-ups in proper sequence and within time standards.
• Troubleshooting basic machine, equipment, and robot problems.
• Completing machine process adjustments to ensure product meets specifications.
• Maintaining housekeeping and following safety/environmental procedures.
