Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Mold Technician for hands-on setup, startup, operation, and shutdown of molding machines. The role emphasizes adherence to standard work, daily quality checks, and lean manufacturing principles to monitor inventory and production flow.

You will participate in progressive training across three levels, perform routine inspections, and support equipment maintenance and housekeeping to ensure safe, efficient production.

Qualifications

• Agreement to complete all required post-hire training modules.
• DAT Mechanical Reasoning score in the 50th percentile.
• Wonderlic Select score 50 (Cognitive portion)

Responsibilities

• Safely performing injection mold changes and machine start-ups in the proper sequence and within time standards.
• Complying with SPI PPE requirements (hard hats, gloves, shoes, eye protection).
• Performing lockout/tagout per requirements and safely operating equipment.
• Troubleshooting basic machine and equipment problems.
• Troubleshooting basic robot problems.
• Assisting with mold construction knowledge and initial troubleshooting.
• Performing basic Robot End-Of-Arm-Tooling maintenance and repair.
• Completing machine process adjustments within limits to meet specs.
• Identifying unsafe conditions and taking action.
• Communicating production concerns with peers on other shifts.
• Assisting supervisor in managing shift activities and training.
• Completing daily production paperwork.
