Job summary

BD, a leader in medical technology, is seeking a Mold Technician to set up, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair injection molds to ensure optimal tooling performance and product quality in our manufacturing operations.

You will support production goals, collaborate with engineering and quality teams, document maintenance activities, and uphold GMP and ISO standards while working in a fast-paced environment at the Sumter, SC facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of mold technician experience in high-volume manufacturing, preferably medical device/plastics.
• Strong understanding of injection molding processes, mold design, and mold construction.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold setups, changeovers, and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mold issues to minimize downtime.
• Repair, modify and adjust molds using hand/power tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Inspect molds for wear or defects and suggest corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams on issues and improvements.
• Document maintenance actions and process parameters in designated systems.
• Adhere to safety, GMP and ISO standards; participate in training to learn new molding technologies.
