Job summary
Banner Engineering, based in MN, is seeking a Mold Technician to support injection mold operations in manufacturing. You will help maintain and repair molds, troubleshoot issues, and work with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and scrap while improving tooling reliability.
The role requires an associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years in injection molding, reading drawings, and using calipers and micrometers.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Tool & Die or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of injection mold experience in manufacturing.
- Hands-on mold maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and tool documentation.
- Experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators).
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on injection molds.
- Assist mold setup, startup, and qualification activities.
- Identify root causes of molding defects and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with external mold shops and tooling suppliers as needed.
- Maintain mold service records and tooling documentation.
