Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily Mold Shop operations.
• Prioritize and schedule mold maintenance and repair to support production.
• Ensure molds are maintained for high quality and minimal downtime.
• Coordinate mold repairs and improvements with Engineering and Operations.
• Supervise, train, and develop Mold Shop personnel.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and OSHA compliance.
• Manage inventories of tools, equipment, and repair materials.
• Maintain records of mold maintenance, repairs, and storage locations.
• Support 5S and process improvement initiatives.
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and performance management.

Mold Shop Leader

Centro is seeking an experienced Mold Shop Leader to oversee the maintenance, repair, and readiness of production molds that are critical to delivering high-quality products to our customers. This role provides leadership for the Mold Shop team and works closely with production, engineering, and operations to ensure molds are maintained safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

What You'll Do

• Lead and oversee daily Mold Shop operations.
• Prioritize and schedule mold maintenance and repair activities to support production requirements.
• Ensure molds are maintained to produce high-quality products and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate mold repairs, modifications, and improvements with Engineering and Operations teams.
• Supervise, train, and develop Mold Shop personnel.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Manage inventories of tools, equipment, and repair materials.
• Maintain accurate records of mold maintenance, repairs, and storage locations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and process improvement activities.
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and performance management of department associates.
• Serve as a hands-on leader and assist with mold maintenance and repair work as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience leading or managing a mold shop, maintenance department, tool room, or similar manufacturing operation.
• Strong project planning, scheduling, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
• Knowledge of mold maintenance, repair techniques, and troubleshooting.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, craftsmanship, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
• Experience using common shop equipment, hand tools, welding equipment, power tools, measuring instruments, forklifts, and hoists.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb stairs, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and mold shop environment.
• Ability to visually inspect parts, read measurements, and distinguish colors and variances.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Manufacturing and mold shop environment.
• Typical schedule is Monday through Friday.
• Position generally requires 45-50 hours per week.
• Occasional weekend work, emergency response, and schedule flexibility may be required to support production needs.
