Job summary

Centro, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mold Shop Leader to oversee the maintenance, repair, and readiness of production molds critical to delivering high-quality products.

This hands-on role leads the Mold Shop team, collaborates with production, engineering, and operations to keep molds safe, efficient, and cost-conscious, and drives 5S and continuous improvement initiatives. This position typically follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with 45–50 hours per week, emphasizing safety, craftsmanship,

Qualifications

• Experience leading or managing a mold shop or similar manufacturing operation.
• Hands-on leader with strong technical abilities and safety focus.
• Proficient in MIG and TIG welding and mold maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily Mold Shop operations.
• Prioritize and schedule mold maintenance and repair activities to support production requirements.
• Ensure molds are maintained to produce high-quality products and minimize downtime.
• Coordinate mold repairs, modifications, and improvements with Engineering and Operations teams.
• Supervise, train, and develop Mold Shop personnel.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Manage inventories of tools, equipment, and repair materials.
• Maintain accurate records of mold maintenance, repairs, and storage locations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and process improvement activities.
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and performance management of department associates.
• Experience leading or managing a mold shop, maintenance department, tool room, or similar manufacturing operation.
• Strong project planning, scheduling, and prioritization skills.
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb stairs, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and mold shop environment.
