Job summary

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Mold Setter is responsible for all set up of production tools, sample molds, and auxiliary equipment ensuring conformance to specifications. Removes and sets molds according to the mold change schedule. Maintains molds for cleanliness and repairs as needed or as directed by toolroom/supervisor. Performs mold cleaning and required documentation.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• - Remove and set molds according to mold change schedule assuring molds are secure, water lines are connected, ejector is setup, and all auxiliary equipment such as circulators, hot runner controls, and hydraulic lines are in place.
• - Operates various equipment, including forklifts, hand truck, and hoists in order to move molds or equipment from one location to another.
• - Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• - Communicate with other department personnel as necessary to coordinate and ensure accurate and timely job activities.
• - Communicate with other Mold Set-Up Technicians during shift and at shift changeover.
• - Complete preventative maintenance on molds and documents as required in procedures.
• - Develop and complete process improvements to increase changeover rate.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

• - High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• - Must be able to work and function in a team environment.
• - Must be proficient in basic mathematics.
• - Must be able to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions given in written, verbal, or diagram form.
• - Hydraulic maintenance, tool set up, robot set up, hand tools, and manufacturing or related experience is a plus.
• - Must possess a mechanical aptitude.
• - Must demonstrate punctuality and have a good attendance history.
