Job summary

Techniplas in South Carolina is seeking a Product Care Associate to join our team. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for manufacturing products while ensuring they meet the highest quality standards. You will work with processing equipment and participate in problem-solving activities to improve workplace efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and preferably some experience in plastic injection molding. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, is essential for this position.

Job description

The company’s products follow industry trends like weight reduction and vehicle electrification, innovative operating concepts, high-quality surface finishes, and an increasing focus on convenience and safety.

The Product Care Associates are responsible for manufacturing products utilizing primary and secondary processing equipment or hand assembly. Following all procedures and work instructions, achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety assuring internal and external customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions
  • Protect our customers to ensure each product meets established quality criteria of zero non-conformances.
  • Correctly record good production and scrap every hour on production paperwork and on the production pace board per work instructions.
  • Correctly evaluate part quality based on part quality inspection instructions.
  • Careful handling of parts based on work instructions.
  • Handle each and every part with care from inspection to pack out to ensure the customers receives a quality product with no molding defects or handling/cosmetic defects.
  • Correct application of all internal and external labels when required, including removal of all old labels from returnable packaging.
  • Daily review all applicable quality alerts to keep you informed that a defect has escaped and reduce risk of a repeat failure while a permanent corrective action is put in place.
  • Immediately notify Supervisor of all discrepancies to established quality checks (ie, sample boards, inspection instructions, SPC, etc.).
  • Escalate production and quality issues/concerns to Supervisor during production, follow escalation policy.
  • Keep work area clean and organized in an effort to increase efficiencies and reduce risk of the product being damaged.
  • Participate in team problem solving activities (ie, 8D’s, communication meetings, etc).
  • Continuously focused on improving processes and participating in training and development programs
  • Proactively participate in Kaizen events, and safety events
  • Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ie, Quality Manual, Associate Handbook, etc).
  • Comply with all Techniplas Environmental Requirements and Policies
  • Report all Environmental incidents to immediate supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a Full-time position. Monday-Friday, core work hours 1st shift – 7:00 am– 3:30 pm; 2nd shift 3:00 pm– 11:30 pm; 3rd shift 11:00 pm– 7:30 am.

Flexible hours to be available.

Must be available to work weekends when requested by Supervisor.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma/GED Preferred.
  • Plastic Injection Molding background is helpful.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a reliable, responsible team player focused on producing a top-quality product.
