Available Shifts

• 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday – Thursday)
• Mandatory overtime as needed for each shift.

Compensation

We provide competitive, equitable pay with transparency. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position in US - Chicago is detailed in the JOB INFO section below. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility.

Position Overview

As a Mold Machine Operator, you will mold epoxy parts and may perform tasks such as sandblasting and painting. You will work in a production environment, engaging in continuous activity, with machine cycles from 7 to 22 minutes. Tasks require eye-hand coordination, manual dexterity, and the use of hand and power tools. Your role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cleaning molds for production readiness.
2. Setting up molding machines using rods, spacers, and inserts to produce epoxy insulators weighing 21 to 40 lbs, with lengths from 2 inches to 2 feet.
3. Cycling the molding machine, monitoring progress, and performing secondary operations like deflashing, inspection, lubrication, and packaging.
4. Transporting tubs of inserts and finished parts.
5. Sandblasting and painting parts.
6. Using material handling equipment, hand tools, power tools, and gauges to check dimensions.
7. Participating in a medical surveillance program coordinated by S&C’s health services.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with hand-held and air-impact tools.

Experience

• Less than one year of relevant experience.
