Job summary

Coldspring in Cold Spring, MN, is hiring a Mold Line Operator to participate in a 10-job rotation on a paced production line that creates quality sand castings for memorial plates.

You will assemble patterns, monitor the release agent booth, verify work orders, and record tasks in the JDE system. You will adjust sand machines and ensure consistent mold quality across shifts. Join a reliable team and grow in a hands-on foundry environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to meet the physical requirements: repetitive bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying; able to lift up to 75 lbs. and stand for the entire shift.
• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties, changing tasks to avoid interruptions.
• Work independently with little or no supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, time-management, and decision-making skills.
• General math skills. Ability to read work orders or production tickets, including dimensional drawings.
• Read a tape measure in imperial and metric units.
• Team player willing to cross-train.
• Willingness to be trained in all areas of the mold line.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the pattern meets work order specifications.
• Scan work orders to record work performed in the JDE system as needed.
• Make adjustments on the sand machine to accommodate mold size.
• Use the strike-off board to move sand back and forth, fill gaps, and strike excess sand off the mold.
• Operate the sand machine to fan thin layers of sand.
• Form and shape sprue on the cope side of the mold.
• Level sand to ensure it is evenly distributed across the entire mold.
• Break excess sand on the waste conveyor.

MOLD LINE OPERATOR

Job Information: Location: Cold Spring, MN. Department: Foundry. Supervisor: Troy Kapoi. Pay Grade & Range: $19.00 - $28.17. Status: Full-time; hourly position. Hours: Monday – Thursday 5:00 am – 2:00 pm; Friday 5:00 am – 11:00 am; overtime as needed.

JOB SUMMARY
