Job summary

M.C. Molds Inc in Michigan is seeking a highly motivated Design Engineer to join our team. You will design and develop complex extrusion blow molds for plastic containers, collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing expert mold design knowledge.

You will create 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks, review designs for feasibility, and help optimize tooling to meet quality and safety standards. Overtime may be required and continuous training is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in extrusion blow mold design is a plus.
• Proficient with SolidWorks for 3D modeling.
• Knowledge of GD&T fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Willing to work overtime and pursue training.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to define mold design specs.
• Create 3D designs and 2D drawings for extrusion blow molds.
• Evaluate designs for feasibility, machine fit, and manufacturability.
• Develop mold tooling and BOMs per standards.
• Maintain design documentation and implement design changes.
• Stay updated on new technologies to reduce lead times.
