Mold Designer – Precision Injection Molding - Plymouth, MN

Salary Range:$89,250.00 To $99,750.00 Annually

What You’ll Do

As a Mold Designer, you’ll play a critical role in designing and developing Class A molds for both new and legacy products. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams—including product development, tooling engineers, and production—to deliver innovative mold solutions that meet demanding engineering and production requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing complex multi-cavity, hot runner, and high-performance molds using SolidWorks.
  • Applying expert knowledge of injection molding processes to optimize flow, cooling, ejection, and cycle time.
  • Leading design reviews and ensuring compliance with internal and industry standards.
  • Supporting project timelines, cost estimates, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Bring

  • Associate degree or certificate in Plastics Engineering, Mold Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in plastic injection mold design.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and familiarity with CAM integration and CNC machining.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, DFM principles, and mold performance optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
