Job summary

PhyNet Dermatology LLC seeks a Mohs Medical Assistant/Surgical Technician to support Mohs surgery procedures and patient care in a dermatology setting. The role includes pre-surgical evaluations, patient education, instrument handling, and maintaining comprehensive records in EMR.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of medical assistant or surgical technician experience, preferably in dermatology, with strong sterile technique and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years as a medical assistant or surgical technician; dermatology experience preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office.
• Expertise in surgical instruments and maintaining sterile techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-surgical evaluations and develop comprehensive care plans.
• Provide pre- and post-operative education to patients and families.
• Prepare the surgical area and arrange instruments, equipment, and anesthesia.
• Assist surgeon during Mohs procedures, including scrubbing in and handing instruments.
• Maintain sterile field and clean, organized environment.
• Document all patient care in EMR with detailed notes.
• Record follow-up communications and post-operative instructions.
• Monitor patient safety during procedures and recovery.
• Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including autoclave sterilization.
