Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation supports ColumbiaDoctors in the Mohs surgery workflow. The MOHS Histotechnologist assists the Director and Lead Histotech, processing tissue samples from embedding to staining to ensure rapid, accurate turnaround.

The role requires Mohs histology certification, NYSED licensure, and a bachelor’s or equivalent histotechnical education. Work is in a fast-paced lab environment with strict regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or HS diploma with histotechnical education or equivalent
• MOHS histology certification required
• NYSED license required for Histotechnologist/CLT/CLT/Pathologist’s Assistant

Responsibilities

• Embed, microtomy, staining, and processing of tissue samples
• Maintain daily cryostat temperatures and lab records
• Label, file, and store slides; manage reagents and materials
• Ensure compliance with CLEP requirements and OSHA safety standards
• Update SOPM and daily logs; support QA and regulatory tasks
