Job summary

U.S. Dermatology Partners is seeking a detail-oriented histology professional to support diagnostic tissue evaluation and Mohs lab operations. The role includes handling high and non-high complexity testing, tissue processing, embedding, staining, and proper documentation in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

You will ensure accurate specimen handling, maintain logs, and adhere to safety policies while supporting quality patient care. Experience in medical office and billing coding is preferred.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Detail oriented with professional attitude and reliability.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of medical billing coding (CPT and ICD-10) is required.

Responsibilities

• Supports diagnostic evaluation of tissue by histological procedures.
• Performs histological duties within Mohs lab guidelines.
• Operates in High/Non-High Complexity testing including embedding, microtomy, staining and coverslipping.
• Maintains safety, compliance with OSHA and HIPAA, and quality control records.
• Prepares slides with permanent labels and maintains Mohs/Excision logbooks.
