Job summary

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking a Mohs Technologist to assist the Mohs surgeon during procedures and to prepare and process histologic specimens for microscopic review. The role requires a high school diploma and ASCP Histotechnologist certification, with a preference for an Associate or Bachelor in Applied Science.

The position is dayshift, 40 hours per week, on-site, with no on-call or weekend duties. BLS certification is also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ASCP Histotechnologist certification required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Applied Science preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician during Mohs surgery.
• Prepares and processes histologic specimens for microscopic evaluation.
• Maintains patient identification and documentation for slides and containers.
• Label, file, and store Mohs slides.
• Operates lab equipment (cryostat, stain line) and ensures preventive maintenance.
