Description

Apple Inc. has openings in Cupertino, California, and various locations across the USA. The role involves developing software to control electrical systems in sensor technologies, designing and launching next-generation sensor technologies for Apple products, and supporting world-class user Touch sensors. Responsibilities include architecting capacitive touch sensor modules, using scientific modeling and analysis to predict sensor behavior, optimizing design performance, analyzing failure modes, proposing mitigations, and contributing to technology roadmaps and patents. You will characterize and validate designs both analytically and in lab setups, some automated, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware, algorithms, and manufacturing to support end-to-end validation and factory implementation. International travel up to 10% is required. The role offers a competitive salary range of $156,624 - $214,500 annually, depending on skills and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering, or related field, with 1 year of relevant experience.
• 1 year of experience in:
• System-level engineering including digital signal processing, electromagnetic modeling.
• Board-level analog and mixed-signal design using ECAD tools (Altium, Allegro, Cadence, KLayout).
• PCB and semiconductor stackup analysis.
• Circuit and FEA simulations (SPICE, COMSOL, HFSS, SiWave).
• Software scripting in Python, SQL, Matlab for automation.
• Machine learning/statistical analysis tools (NumPy, SciPy, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
• Hardware/software version control (Git, Subversion).
• Firmware programming in C/C++, Python, with protocols like I2C, SPI, USB, JTAG.
• Failure analysis using lab tools (Keyence, MicroVu, FIB-SEM, TDR/VNA, oscilloscopes).
• Collaboration with manufacturing partners on design and failure analysis.
